Merry Christmas - Welcome to my Blog

Merry Christmas...

I love Christmas time. It has a comfy feeling. My children get all excited about presents and going to grandma's house. We decorate the house with lights and special items.

I get really sentimental and gushy and then finally I get reflective. Thank God for Christmas, I mean if I were the creator of the universe I'm not sure I would want to lower myself to being a creature. I'm glad that He did.

Instead of staying high on his throne, Jesus decided to keep a loose grip on his royal rights and he chose to humble himself. Not just a little bit of humilty but scum of the earth lowest peon kind of humilty. Why? that's a good question...

I guess because he saw value in us, his broken down, morally bankrupt creatures. Well.. On second thought.. Maybe he didn't see value, maybe it was his humilty that ultimately gave us our value. That continues to give us value. That's some kind of crazy love. It seems pretty hard to fathom. Love that would give up all the perks of heaven in exchange for the pain of humanity. Not just the pain and limitations of humanity but humanity as a servant when you deserve the right to be king. Whew!

Here's to you -- Reader -- May you realize the kind of love that Christmas holds for you this year.

About Me

I'm in love with my wife, enchanted by my children, and amazed by the world around me.
